FOLLOWING THE ZIONIST missile attack on Iran and the killing of several top military officers I remembered the words of Khalid-bin-Waleed (ra) on his deathbed, “ I attended such-and-such a battle, and such-and-such a battle, proceeding (towards the enemies); and there is no spot of my body but that it has either a sword’s strike, a spear’s pierce or an arrow’s throw. And now I’m dying on my bed, in the same way as the camel dies. May the eyes of the cowards never sleep.”
Our militaries across the Muslim world have abandoned the cause of Islam—no longer fighting to uphold truth and justice. Instead, they serve artificial borders and nation-states, upholding the interests of tyrants who do not govern by Allah’s law. While the Ummah bleeds, they remain in their barracks, obedient to a chain of command rather than the command of their Lord. They take pride in medals pinned to their chests and uniforms tailored more for display than for sacrifice. They conduct drills with the enemies of Islam but shy away from actual battles to protect innocent blood.
They have become content with the comforts of this world, forgetting the enormous burden they carry: to fight for the cause of Islam. A cause whose reward is only twofold—either victory in this world or the eternal reward of martyrdom in the Hereafter.
Let those who would sacrifice this life for the Hereafter fight in the cause of Allah. And whoever fights in Allah’s cause—whether they achieve martyrdom or victory—We will honour them with a great reward. (an-Nisa 74)
And yet, the death they hoped to avoid came upon them swiftly, as bombs rained down without warning.
Wherever you may be, death will overcome you—even if you are in fortified towers. (an-Nisa 78)
Surely, this must be a wake-up call for those in uniform. A call to finally rise.
If you do not march forth, He will afflict you with a painful torment and replace you with other people. You are not harming Him in the least. And Allah is Most Capable of everything. (at-Tawbah 39)
Iran, like Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the UAE, Qatar, and others, remains just another nation-state ruled by regimes that do not govern by the Book of Allah. They serve Western agendas and pursue national interests at the expense of the Ummah. Over and over, they betray the collective cause of Muslims.
Did they really expect the enemies of Islam to relent?
If they gain the upper hand over you, they would be your (open) enemies, unleashing their hands and tongues to harm you, and wishing that you would abandon faith. (al-Mumtahanah 2)
This is an enemy that will not hold back. They have proved this time and time again.
I do not mourn these regimes—they have exposed themselves before Allah and the Ummah. Their days are numbered.
Nor do I mourn the innocent lives lost—for if Allah wills, their reward is near.
Rather, I mourn for the Muslims around the world who remain inactive. Who witness oppression and stay silent. Who seek solutions but do not turn to Islam. Who feel our disunity but make no effort to restore unity.
Allah’s plan will unfold regardless. The only question is: Will we be a part of it—or not?
