THROUGHOUT OUR HISTORY, the disbelievers have united to attack the believers.
At the Battle of Ahzab, the polytheists allied with the Yahood in a bid to annihilate the Muslims of Madinah. They failed.
Centuries later, during World War I, the Allied powers—Britain, France, and Russia—defeated the Ottoman Khilafah. In the aftermath, they divided the Muslim world with arbitrary borders drawn through the Sykes-Picot Agreement. These colonial lines remain to this day—symbols of our division and disunity.
Today, the legacy continues. For the past 19 months, the genocide in Gaza has unfolded before our eyes. With full backing from the U.S. and U.K.—in the form of weapons, intelligence, finances, and diplomatic cover—the Zionist regime wages a campaign of terror: killing women and children, stealing land and razing everything to the ground.
In the past week, tensions have escalated in another British-engineered fault line: Kashmir. India has bombed Pakistan, killing civilians and destroying masajid. In response, Pakistan has shot down Indian jets and neutralized Zionist-made drones.
These aggressors are driven by a mixture of hatred of Islam, greed for resources, a desire for power, and geopolitical interests.
But what of the Ummah?
Allah reminds us in the Qur’an:
وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ بَعْضُهُمْ أَوْلِيَآءُ بَعْضٍ ۚ إِلَّا تَفْعَلُوهُ تَكُن فِتْنَةٌۭ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَفَسَادٌۭ كَبِيرٌۭ
“As for the disbelievers, they are allies of one another. If you (believers) do not act likewise, there will be great oppression and corruption in the land.” (al-Anfal: 73)
Our unity, then, is not optional. It is a divine imperative. Rationally, it’s clear—there is strength in unity. Textually, Allah clearly commands:
وَٱعْتَصِمُوا۟ بِحَبْلِ ٱللَّهِ جَمِيعًۭا وَلَا تَفَرَّقُوا۟
“And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided.” (Ale Imran: 103)
We were meant to be one Ummah—bound by one Book, one Deen, one land, and one leader. Through unity, we gain the strength to resist oppression. Yet today, we remain fragmented: divided by colonial borders, loyal to artificial nation-states, and ruled by leaders who betray our cause.
The results are clear. Our disunity has led to the very fitnah and fasad the Qur’an warned us about.
But unity is not only about defence. It is about mission.
It is about fulfilling our duty as the bearers of Allah’s message—to lead humanity out of darkness and into light.
“Alif-Lãm-Ra. [This is] a Book We have revealed to you so that you may bring people out of darkness and into light, by the will of their Lord, to the path of the Almighty, the Praiseworthy.” (Ibrahim: 1)
A divided and oppressed Ummah is like a diseased body—incapable of fulfilling its purpose. For Islam to reach the world in its full beauty, justice, and truth, the Muslim Ummah must be strong, healthy, and united.
Meanwhile, India’s Prime Minister Modi has taken a page from his allies’ playbook: Might is right. His vision of Hindutva ethno-supremacy sees India as a land for Hindus alone. His policies mirror the Zionist project in Palestine and echo the rise of white supremacist movements in the West. These ideologies sow fear, division, and hatred.
Islam presents an alternative.
It offers a vision rooted in justice, unity, and mercy—a system that guarantees the rights of all people, Muslim or non-Muslim. Unlike Hindutva, Zionism and white supremacism that divide and oppress, Islam unites and uplifts.
Yet many Muslims still place their hope in the so-called “international community”—an entity that has repeatedly failed to uphold justice when Muslims are the victims. The so-called rules-based order stands exposed: built on hypocrisy, riddled with double standards, and now fracturing before our eyes.
But beyond this illusion lies a real alternative: the Khilafah.
A system grounded in divine guidance. One that protects the weak, upholds justice and fulfils the command of Allah. It is time to turn away from false hopes and toward a future built on truth, dignity, and obedience to our Creator.
“You are the best nation ever raised for humanity—you enjoin what is right, forbid what is wrong, and believe in Allah.” (Ale Imran: 110)
This is our identity. This is our duty. And this is our future—if we choose to unite on Islam alone.
